To advance women’s leadership today and tomorrow

More than 8,000 of the world's most accomplished leaders make up International Women's Forum.  IWF Chicago is one of 77 local forums in 35 countries.

      • Membership is by invitation only. Membership nominees are recognized by peers for their achievement, impact and influence.

We support one another and lift others. 

We convene for local programs and global conferences to consider the world's most vexing issues and cutting-edge ideas.

  • Through philanthropic grants, we support the next generation of leaders.  



Why we're here

In 1974, the first generation of women leaders was breaking glass ceilings, from finance to fine arts.

In New York, a group of women came together to consider their lack of access to “the old boys club.''  The new women’s network was born. 

Their intent was to provide professional and personal support toward each other’s success and to inspire women who follow.

The mission is no less vital today. Women remain underrepresented in the C-Suite, on corporate boards and as recipients of venture capital.
